World cup fever in Hursley!

World Cup fever hits Hursley - Dinosaurs defeated by Tadpoles.

Sunday evening saw an eruption of World Cup fever on the recreation ground as the Tadpoles (average age 13) narrowly defeated the Dinosaurs (average age 45) in a closely contested game-of-two-halves in front of a capacity crowd (6).   The score was a nail-biting 7-all at the final whistle, blown by referee (aged 89) The result being decided by the final ball of a penalty shoot-out, which went in off the post.  The photo shows the relaxed and smiling victors, the exhausted Dinosaurs providing mutual support, and the Tadpoles’ team mascot modelling an item from her ‘Hand of Dog’ range of World Cup pet wear.
