Hursley Community Speed Watch (HCSW) First Deployment Tuesday 31st January.

Over many months now, following all the feedback on speed related issues in the village, a small team has been chipping away at trying to fund a Community Speed Watch system and team for the village.

With a big effort from Jan Warwick the funding (£3000) was finally agreed via the Fieldfare LEADER project. We then set about procuring a system and asking for volunteers.

As with all projects like this volunteers are key. We currently have 7 volunteers from the village who have gone through the police vetting process and CSW training. However we need more volunteers if this is to be a sustainable project going forward.  If you feel that speeding vehicles are an issue in the village it is important to get involved, just an hour a week can make a huge difference and we will hopefully get safer roads in our village. The feeling of actually doing something positive can be incredibly satisfying in knowing that as a HCSW volunteer you will be having a positive impact on the village and the environment, instead of waiting for someone else to do it.

The first deployment will be on the morning of Tuesday 31st January close to the Dolphin public house.

If you would like to be a volunteer or just to know more or have any feedback regarding the Hursley Community Speed Watch project we would love to hear from you.
