FRIENDS OF HURSLEY SCHOOL

Summer Half Term Newsletter

Dear Friends

I hope you have had a great half term break, enjoying the unusually hot days.  Let’s hope that the good weather continues into this second half of term so that we can have a successful fete, dry overnight camps and rain-free sports day!

By the time you are reading this, the new play equipment (bought by the Friends) will have been installed on the adventure playground…pop round and have a look at the fruits of all our fundraising efforts!

In the meantime, this half term is always a busy but fun time for us all.

We kick off this Saturday 12th June with the Hursley Country Fayre (11.30-3pm, in the School Grounds).  Don’t forget to hand in sold raffle ticket stubs (together with the money) to the school before the day – we have some fantastic prizes to be won including 2 overnight stays at local hotels.  As ever, we need helpers to man some of the stands, so please do sign up on the boards outside school if you can help out for a few hours.  And remember non-uniform day this Friday, in return for cakes or cookies to be sold at the fete.  Most importantly, come along on the day to enjoy a fantastic family day out…fire engines and all!

Tuesday 29th June, 7.30pm - Friends Meeting – Hannah’s house

(63 Collins Lane, Hursley, tel: 01962 775473)

We welcome existing and new parents – please do just come along.

Friday 2nd July, 1.30 –3.30pm, Sports Day

The Friends will be providing refreshments on the day – if you would like to help please contact me.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting all the Friends events and initiatives over the past school year.  We try to balance fundraising with fun, and if you have any ideas for future events, please do give me a call or talk to me at the school gate.

Enjoy the rest of the term and have a great summer

Amanda and the team
